Essential criteria
A high security lock must meet several criteria to guarantee optimal protection of your home.
A2P certification
The A2P standard (Assurance Prévention Protection) is the quality guarantee for locks. It comes in 3 levels:
- A2P*: 5 minutes resistance
- A2P**: 10 minutes resistance
- A2P***: 15 minutes resistance
Number of locking points
The more locking points a lock has, the more resistant it is. Generally, 3 to 5 points are recommended for a front door.
